What I do
As Office Manager, I am responsible for ensuring a smooth, efficient office; as well as assisting the support staff with general work queries and issues, and recruitment.
What I like about my work
I love the variety and the challenge that my role brings. It is hands on and gives me an opportunity to make a difference.
What I've done in the past
I worked at a local Dunedin project management company for many years as Business Services Manager, I was also involved in the setup of a boutique wine tasting company in Queenstown. Following that, I lived in Sydney working for an IT project management company. A new direction meant taking a recent break from full time employment to study management (with a focus in human resources) at Otago University.
My approach to working with people
Collaboration; consultation; empathy and being up-front.
What I enjoy at work
The opportunity to work for such a respected and progressive law firm was something that I couldn't pass up. The team is great; very professional and friendly.
What I enjoy outside of work
When I can, I enjoy traveling, skiing and hiking. To keep fit I go to the gym and cycle. Reading and listening to good music with a glass of Central Otago pinot noir are other favourite activities.
What I enjoy about living in the South Island
The lifestyle and the stunning beauty of the landscape. The South Island has highlights from all around the world. It's got the beauty of the Swiss Alps, the rolling hills of England, the fjords of Norway and more, all in one tiny nation.
