Canterbury Earthquake - Minister's Announcement on Change 1 to the Canterbury Regional Policy Statement: Oct 2011On 14 October the Honourable Gerry Brownlee, Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery, announced that he was invoking the powers under section 27(1)(a) of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011 to include a new Chapter 12A in the Canterbury Regional Policy Statement and revoking the previous Change 1 (currently before the Courts). Otago Regional Council - Plan Change 2 to the Otago Water Plan: Jul 2011The Otago Regional Council ("ORC") has notified Plan Change 2 to the Regional Plan: Water (“the Plan”). Plan Change 2 focuses on regionally significant wetlands and has legal effect from 2 July 2011 under the Resource Management Act. This means that new applications for resource consent will be considered against the new rules in Plan Change 2. Public submissions on Plan Change 2 are open until Friday July 29 2011.
