Ben has been a commercial lawyer since 2000, with particular expertise in company, banking and insolvency, commercial transactions, and securities law. He has worked in New Zealand and London and advised on a range of corporate and commercial law issues, including a number of high-profile projects and transactions.
Ben enjoys the cut and thrust of complex transactions, helping businesses and entrepreneurs to execute their plans and to prosper, and is regularly engaged by banks and other financial institutions to provide transactional, restructuring and recovery advice.
Ben provides timely and strategic commercial legal advice. He likes to understand the internal and external context in which his clients operate – the ‘big picture’ – and to tailor his advice accordingly.
Ben is committed to Christchurch and helping clients who are seeking to rebuild, grow and prosper in this critical time in the future of Canterbury. He joined Anderson Lloyd in 2000 and is based in the Christchurch office.
Ben is a member of the Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association of New Zealand (RITANZ), the Banking and Financial Services Law Association, and the Institute of Directors. He is also a presenter for the New Zealand Law Society’s Introduction to Company Law workshop.
Ben is recommended as a banking and finance lawyer in the Legal 500 (Asia Pacific).
